Mechi tiene 27 años y a los 22 se fue de Argentina para conocer el mundo. Al día de hoy, ha vivido en 10 países de 4 continentes distintos y disfruta mostrar la vida cotidiana a sus más de 8,000 seguidores en Instagram.

¿Por qué te interesó viajar hacia Costa Rica?

La primera vez que vine a Costa Rica fue hace seis años de vacaciones con mis amigas. Nos íbamos a quedar un mes pero me gustó tanto que decidí quedarme dos. Me enamoré del clima, hace calor todo el día y el agua del mar también es calientita.

Al año siguiente decidí volver por cuatro meses y después me fui a Australia. Pero regresé por tercera vez porque es un lugar que te atrapa, es impresionante. Una vez que vienes no te quieres ir.

¿Qué te gustaría que tus seguidores conocieran de Costa Rica?

Yo quiero mostrar en Instagram la verdadera vida de los lugares que visito, la vida local, contando lo bueno y lo no tan bueno.

Lo que más me gusta de este país es la simpleza, los ticos (costarricenses) tienen un lema: pura vida. Que hace referencia a lo simple, a dar las gracias y eso se ve reflejado en su cotidianidad.

Te das cuenta que no necesitas mucho para ser feliz. Solo necesitas una casa y comida para sentirte pleno viviendo a unos metros del mar. Aquí siempre vives cerca de la playa.

¿Cuál es tu spot favorito?

La bajada a la playa frente a mi casa en Santa Teresa, porque adquirí la rutina de todas las mañanas bajar y desayunar un agua de coco en la playa.

Y algún secret spot…

En Santa Teresa están los Piletones de Malpaís, es una playa con rocas y cuando la marea baja se forman piletas naturales muy lindas.

Y otros cuatro que recomiendo son:

• Playa Paraíso, por sus palmeras.

• La reserva natural Cabo Blanco.

• Curú, para hacer surf.

• Isla Tortuga.

Estos son lugares MÁGICOS.

¿Must to do si visitas CR?

Increíblemente Costa Rica no es solo playa como uno se imagina, también tiene un centro que es todo selva, una mezcla perfecta para los amantes de la naturaleza. En el centro puedes encontrar volcanes, cascadas y animales exóticos.

Yo recomiendo sí o sí:

• Las aguas termales de Río Celeste en La Fortuna.

• La reserva natural en Manuel Antonio, para volverse loco viendo los monos y los árboles en medio de la selva. Lo recomiendo por 2 o tres días.

• Santa Teresa, antes era un pequeño pueblo surfer, aunque lamentablemente está creciendo demasiado.

• Tamarindos, una ciudad tipo Miami.

• Nosara, del lado del pacífico.

• Puerto Viejo, del lado del Caribe.

Ahora sí… 5 razones por las que recomiendas visitar Costa Rica

• El clima, si sos fanático del calor este lugar es para ti.

• Las frutas y verduras, la mejor piña del mundo se consigue aquí. También el agua de coco todos los días… es un suero natural y no tiene precio.

• El surf, si te gusta este deporte estás en el lugar indicado.

• La simpleza de la vida acá, ¡pura vida!

• El contacto con la naturaleza, todos los días vas a ver ardillas e iguanas.

¿Algo extra?

Sí, cuatro cosas:

• Pedir a la gente que sea consciente del medio ambiente. No tirar basura en la playa, no hacer fogatas porque suele haber nidos de tortugas y se pueden lastimar.

• Usar protector solar, mucho protector muchas veces por día, porque el sol acá es muy fuerte.

• Cuidarnos entre las mujeres, aquí es seguro pero es un lugar que está creciendo y hay que estar alerta. Más vale prevenir y no ir a la playa sola de noche.

• Y disfrutar mucho mucho porque es un lugar único, un paraíso.

Why were you interested in traveling to Costa Rica?

The first time I came to Costa Rica it was six years ago on vacation with my friends. We were going to stay for a month but I liked it so much that I decided to stay for two. I fell in love with the weather, it's hot all day and the sea water is also warm.

The following year I decided to go back for four months and then I went to Australia. But I came back for the third time because it is a place that catches you, it is impressive. Once you come you don't want to leave.

What would you like your followers to know about Costa Rica?

I want to show on Instagram the true life of the places I visit, local life, showing the good and the not so good.

What I like most about this country is its simplicity. The “Ticos” (Costa Ricans) have a motto: “Pura Vida”. That refers to the simple, to

give thanks and that is reflected in their daily lives.

You realize that you don't need much to be happy. You just need a house and food to feel fulfilled living a few meters from the sea. Here you always live near the beach.

What is your favorite spot?

The descent to the beach in front of my house in Santa Teresa, because I acquired the routine of going down every morning and having coconut water for breakfast on the beach.

And any secret spots…

In Santa Teresa there is the Piletones de Malpaís, a beach with rocks and when the tide goes out very beautiful natural pools are formed.

And another four that I recommend are:

Playa Paraíso, for its palm trees.

Cabo Blanco nature reserve.

Curú, to surf.

Isla Tortuga.

These are MAGICAL places.

Any must-dos when you visit CR?

Incredibly, Costa Rica is not only a beach as one imagines, it also has a center that is all jungle, a perfect mix for nature lovers. In the center you can find volcanoes, waterfalls and exotic animals.

Places you MUST visit:

The thermal waters of Rio Celeste in La Fortuna.

The nature reserve in Manuel Antonio, it’s a crazy experience seeing the monkeys and the trees in the middle of the jungle. I recommend it for 2-3 days.

Santa Teresa used to be a small surf town, unfortunately, it is growing too much.

Tamarindos, a city like Miami.

Nosara, on the Pacific side.

Puerto Viejo, on the Caribbean side.

The weather, if you are a fan of heat this place is for you.

Fruits and vegetables, the best pineapple in the world is obtained here. Also, coconut water every day... It's a natural serum and it's priceless.

Surfing, if you like this sport you are in the right place.

The simplicity of life here, pure life!

Contact with nature, every day you will see squirrels and iguanas.

Anything extra?

Yes, four things:

To ask people to be environmentally conscious. Do not throw garbage on the beach, do not make fires because there are usually turtle nests and they can be hurt.

Use sunscreen, a lot of sunscreen many times a day, because the sun here is very strong.

Taking care of ourselves among women, here it is safe but it is a place that is growing and we have to be alert. It is better to be preventive and not go to the beach alone at night.

And enjoy it a lot because it is a unique place, a paradise.
